FRANK – Food Intelligence ("FRANK", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Email address — if you choose to create an account for history sync across devices. Account creation is optional; the app works fully without one.
• Scan history — the products you scan are stored locally on your device. If you create an account, your scan history is synced to our secure servers via Supabase.
• Usage data — anonymous analytics about how you use the app (which features you use, how often you scan) collected via PostHog to help us improve the product.
• Crash data — anonymous crash reports to help us identify and fix bugs.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your location
• We do not access your camera roll or photos
• We do not collect payment information (handled by Apple/RevenueCat)
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising

Third-Party Services

Supabase — We use Supabase for user authentication and scan history storage for users who create accounts. Supabase stores data on secure servers. Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy

RevenueCat — We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions (FRANK Pro). RevenueCat processes subscription transactions through Apple's App Store. RevenueCat does not have access to your payment information. Privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

PostHog — We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics. PostHog collects anonymised usage events (such as app opens and feature usage) to help us understand how FRANK is used. No personally identifiable information is linked to these events. Privacy policy: posthog.com/privacy

Open Food Facts — Product data is sourced from the Open Food Facts database, a free and open food products database. No user data is sent to Open Food Facts. Privacy policy: openfoodfacts.org/privacy

Anthropic Claude API — AI health analysis is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When you scan a product, anonymised product data (name, grade, additives) is sent to Anthropic to generate a health summary. No personal information is included. Privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your account and sync your scan history across devices
• To improve FRANK's features and fix bugs
• To process your Pro subscription through Apple

Data Retention

If you create an account, your scan history is retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile tab in the app.

Anonymous usage analytics are retained for up to 24 months.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@frank-app.health.

If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.

Children's Privacy

FRANK is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
